Wound Care

In the case of slow healing wounds, our staff works to promote healing through a variety of treatments

Wound careSpecially trained to deal with slow healing wounds, our team works with wounds caused by diabetes, poor circulation, pressure, injury, or surgical incision.

Our therapists are able to increase blood flow to the wound and help promote healing by providing different treatment, including Neuromuscular Electric Stimulation, Ultrasound, and Diathermy. All of these help with the healing process by increasing blood flow to the wound.

Without treatment, slow healing wounds could remain open for months and sometimes years. Risk factors include chronic illnesses such as renal, cardiovascular and autoimmune diseases, reduced functional mobility and nutritional deficiencies.

Our team members treat residents with the sensitivity and care necessary during wound treatments. We understand there is an emotional side of healing, especially when a wound has resisted healing after months or even years of traditional treatment. Our staff and wound care specialists focus on wound healing, resident comfort, interdisciplinary treatment, and education.
